Matthew’s writing credits include: Top Hat (Concord Theatricals); Far From The Madding Crowd (Samuel French), Staging Musicals (Bloomsbury), Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Little Pigs, and The Night Before Christmas (Harper Collins). He also adapted and directed David Walliams’s Mr Stink for Leicester Curve and a subsequent national tour. Matthew has just completed his first full-length play, The Variations.

His West End acting credits include: Chicago (Adelphi Theatre), The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s Theatre), Les Misérables (Palace Theatre), Kiss of the Spider Woman(Shaftesbury Theatre), Ragtime (Piccadilly Theatre), for which he received an Olivier nomination for Best Supporting Actor, Children of Eden (Prince Edward Theatre), Cinderella(Old Vic Theatre), and The Mousetrap (St Martin’s Theatre). Howard Jacques

Howard Jacques co-wrote the book for the original stage production of Top Hat at the Aldwych Theatre.  Nominated for seven Laurence Olivier Awards in 2013, it won in three categories including Best New Musical, as well as garnering the prestigious Evening Standard Award for Best Night Out.  After its West End run, it was seen on two major national tours, two productions in Japan and a production at the Malmo Opera in Sweden. He also conceived and wrote Something Wonderful (Savoy Theatre and tour) and co-wrote the lyrics for Julia Donaldson’s and Lydia Monks' picture book What the Ladybird Heard, which has played several times in the West End and on numerous UK tours.
